Assistant Manager, Design & Engineering, Singapore (Gas Suppression)
Reporting To: Manager, Design & Engineering, Singapore
Summary of job duties and responsibilities:
Responsible for the development of Gas Suppression Engineering solutions for On-shore Fire Protection projects. (e.g. Data Centre, Power Plant)
Primary duties and responsibilities:
1. Assist Design Manager to supervise and manage a team of Design Engineers and drafters.
2. Provide efficient and value added engineering on design of Gas Suppression and extinguishing systems and solutions.
3. Assist Design Manager to establish and maintain standard and techniques to design and engineering solution.
4. Prepare and review sales estimates for Gas Suppression Design and related M&E scope.
5. Provide technical support to Sales.
6. Attend technical clarification meetings on projects when required.
7. Liaise with contractors, consultants and Engineer Procurement Construction (EPC) companies.
8. Participate in audits, testing and commissioning activities.
9. Assist in preparation of O&M manuals and training plans on fire suppression and extinguishing systems.
10. Maintain and update records of necessary Gas Suppression and extinguishing products/codes/specifications in company technical library.
11. Ensure projects and solutions are executed in accordance with the relevant codes and standards, and to the satisfaction of the company and customers.
Skills & knowledge requirements:
1. Strong design engineering skills on Gas Suppression systems.
2. In-depth knowledge of fire protection products and building codes and specifications.
3. Able to deliver results for multiple projects under tight deadlines.
4. Self motivated, energetic team player with business acumen and excellent analytical and interpersonal skills.
5. Customer focused, able to take responsibility for the execution and delivery of the solutions.
Experience/qualifications requirements:
1. Minimum diploma in Mechanical Engineering or Building Services.
2. Minimum 7 years experience in design engineering of on-shore Gas Suppression, fire suppression and extinguishing systems |
